Well, here is what we have done so far.
TUESDAY:
We had a presentation about Sexual Harassment. It was pretty straight forward. According to the presentors, do not exceed a CREEP factor of 1. Creep factor here refers to being creepy, like staring at someone the whole day, or whistling.
We had some more instructions on how to brief a case, and we were assigned another case.
WEDNESDAY:
I didn't show up till 1pm, because all morning there were spiritual things going on, things to strengthin the heart. I thought it was useless becasue as we all know, in order to be a lawyer you have to be heartless. :-)
We had a discussion with the Author of "50 Question on the Natural Law". From what I gather, the Natural Law is the Law of GOD according to Catholics.
THURSDAY:
OH Man this was the hard day. In the morning we watched the movie "A Man for All Seasons". In the 60's this movie won all kinds of awards. Then we had a discussion about it with a Judge from the 3rd district. I think that means he is a Federal Judge.
But the wasn't all.................
The we borded the buses to go on a so called "community service project". It seems like hard labor to me. Our group went to a boy scouts camp about an hour and a half away. There we dug a trench to divert rain water that was supposedly flooding the dirt road. We layed down some sod and hay. Then we moved a bunch of woodchips and spread them down on a path. The other half of our groups leveled a mountain or something.
That was about it.
OH YA,
remember I told you about my books and how expensive they were, well one of the student organizations LEX VITAE, was selling some used books. I bought 3 case books and 2 supplementals for $80. I returned the same 3 new case books I bought earlier for $315. Two of the used ones were older editions, but I was told they arent that different.
Thats a lesson for you future 1Ls, buy used.
Tomorrow is Friday, finally the end of the week, looking forward to some reading.
